about

Finally, a proper full-band version of this song! I'm overjoyed with how it turned out. It's a proper send-off for Lizzy who is leaving the band. She wrote most of the music, but we all found ways to contribute to writing it.

The lyrics are about feeling overwhelmed/exasperated. It's basically about depression. It's also slightly lyrically inspired by a Patton Oswalt bit called "The Vestibule of Dreams" off of his album "Finest Hour". Also I had to toss in the anti-suicide message at the end because I don't want to be negative all the time, right? - Tim D.

lyrics

What kind of future will there be
Is it worth paying the cost
All this technology
Doesn't make up for what we've lost
Endless war, endless fight
Police state won't make us free
So just lay down and sigh
As you try to fall asleep

When you have nothing left
And you don't know what to say
When you have nothing left
And you don't know what to say
So just lay down and sigh
As you try to fall asleep
When you have nothing left
And you don't know what to say

Exasperation washes over
Such a wonderful flu
Easy to feel overwhelmed
When there's so much work to do
And the thought of facing life
Makes you want to turn and flee
So just lay down and sigh
As you try to fall asleep

When you have nothing left
And you don't know what to say
When you have nothing left
And you don't know what to say
So just lay down and sigh
As you try to fall asleep
When you have nothing left
And you don't know what to say

When you have nothing left
Try to fall asleep
When you have nothing left
Try to fall asleep
It's not worth giving up
So please don't throw it away
When you have nothing left
And you don't know what to say
